A salon style exhibition featuring over 40+ artist to celebrate the 1 year anniversary of City Wide Artists
City Wide Artists is pleased to announce the celebration of their first year with the major inner city art exhibition: CWA: CITY SPIT.
Inspired by Times Square Show, the legendary 1980 group show that catapulted artists such as Jean Michel Basquiat and Keith Haring to the forefront of the 80’s art scene and popular culture; CWA has spent a great deal of time researching some of the Twin Cities’ most interesting, talked (or whispered) about known, and unknown artists. From wheat paste to fine painting, it will be a salon style mash up of ideas, mediums and what we hope will be the best example of work from the various communities making up our inner city art scene.
Out of this collection of 40+ new and known artists – some major ideas and names should emerge, thus presenting the state of art today in the Twin Cities.
Having started with a stunning exhibit by the renowned Macedonian artist Igor Josifov, and ending with the critically acclaimed exhibition of Prince Adetomiwa Gbadebo, City Wide Artists has become an important contributor to the local arts community. The support of the press, local galleries and art institutions has been amazing, and we hope to give even more back with this major show exhibiting what we feel is some of the best of what the Twin Cities has to offer.
