A Sponge Made of Mirrors | Jonathon Rosemond + Wyatt Lasky

Jonathon Rosemond and Wyatt Lasky, collectively named A Sponge Made of Mirrors, are a collaborative duo who make videos based on the sharing practices built into mixtape, playlist, podcast, and file sharing subcultures.

"A Sponge Made of Mirrors" is a phrase that comes from producer Pharrell Williams' description of being in the studio; they take it on as a reflection of how they function as artists and as filters. In the last year, Rosemond and Lasky have recorded conversations with artists and curators on the subject of genre, music, and process, and collected these materials into episodic mashups of conversation, curated music, and found footage.

Join us Saturday, July 9th at 8pm for the opening of an exhibition of four of these new videos: Goth, Love, Clogged Heads, and Texas TYGAR. Regular hours are Wednesday through Saturday, 12pm to 5pm through July 30th. Special outdoor screenings of these videos, starting with Goth on July 9th at 8:45pm, are accompanied by complementary corresponding ice cream flavors courtesy of Fletcher’s Ice Cream!
