Embodied Material is a reading group and exhibition facilitated by Sophia Munic in partnership with Fresh Eye Gallery.
Over the course of 6 weeks, artists came together to read an assortment of interviews and essays that explore the cross-section between queer and textile theory. Together the cohort dissected complicated ideas, examining what inspires, confuses, and stirs. These readings and conversations inform the group exhibition, materializing the inherent queerness of textiles & collectivize the craft of shared knowledge outside of academic institutions.

They host a Queer Open Studio with Curiosity Studio in Longfellow and teach at the Textile Center.
