Empty Places, Abandoned Spaces 2023

In its original gallery, Praxis Gallery presents a collection of photographs that explore the visual and social significance of what is left behind, in which crumbling factories, derelict churches, private homes, and other empty places serve as the basis for creative investigation. Juried by Praxis Director Ross Anderson. 

A free opening reception Saturday, December 16, 2023, from 6 to 8PM celebrates the debut of two new group shows at Praxis Gallery & Photographic Arts Center in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis. This diverse collection includes 23 Minnesota artists along with photographers from 25 other states and 13 foreign countries.

The opening night reception is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to mingle with artists and fellow photography enthusiasts while exploring three galleries of contemporary photographic art and enjoying complimentary refreshments. “Empty Places, Abandoned Spaces” juried by Ross Anderson opens in the original Praxis Gallery, while “Dusk Till Dawn” opens in the Directors’ gallery. Yankee Enduro, a solo exhibition by G.S. Broz, continues its run in the Lab Gallery. All three exhibits will be on view through Saturday, January 6, 2024.
