Leslie Barlow | vision of a soft sun

Leslie Barlow shares new oil paintings on panel and paper that explore a kind of freedom, play, and joy among and between (or in spite of) heaviness and chaos. An acknowledgement of friends and loved ones in this particular cosmic moment, the works become gentle markings of relationships and experiences that feel both familiar and radical. Barlow sees this work as a necessary renewal of the spirit, a reclaiming of space, leisure, and slow process when everything surrounding urges to speed up and return to some sense of “normal” that was never normal in the first place.

TC Art Week event: Sunday, October 16, 10am–12pm (part of Twin Cities Art Week events). Meet artist Leslie Barlow over pastries and coffee. New paintings and works on paper by the artist will be on view in the artist's first exhibition with the gallery and her artist's book, Kith and Kin, will be available for purchase/signing (quantities may be limited).
