Milestones | Melodee Strong

"This exhibition represents two pivotable milestones in my career. The first was when I officially became a published illustrator for children’s books. Some of the original illustrations in this exhibition are from my senior project, Colorful World, that eventually was published and on bookstore shelves only 2 years after I graduated from MCAD. This project allowed me to continue illustrating for the same publisher producing award winning titles in English and Spanish informing all children that they are beautiful, brave, creative, friendly, healthy, helpful and important.

The second pivotable milestone represented in this exhibition occurred more recently. I had a solo exhibition at NE Sculpture Factory and Gallery in the fall of 2022 titled Líneas de Sangre (Bloodlines). Selected pieces from that show will be exhibited which was and continues to be a retrospection into my experience as a “Minneruvian.” So if you missed it in September you have an opportunity to see it here! The reception is free and open to the public. Some refreshments will be provided. I will be signing and selling books, prints and originals.
