Casket Arts presents their fall open studio event, featuring live music, local food, guest artists, film screenings, and more.
Friday, October 16th, 3pm-9pm
Saturday, October 17th, 10am-6pm
A former casket factory dating back to 1887, Casket Arts is now one of Northeast's premiere artist studio buildings. This fall, dozens of artists and artisans will open their studios to the public, showcasing the finest in local painting, sculpture, printmaking, jewlery, photography, ceramics and more. Two dozen guest artists will also be showing throughout the lobbies and hallways of the Casket Arts Building and the accompanying Carriage House, while Franconia In the City hosts a pop-up show in their gallery at the Factory out back.
Local food vendors include Filfillah food truck out front and Riffs Smokehouse BBQ and Gorkha Palace on the 2nd floor of the main building. FindFurnish will also be screening two documentaries, one about Charles & Ray Eames and another about the Bauhaus movement, at Casket Cinema (Studio 145), accompanied by iconic Eames and Bauhaus furniture exemplifying the mid-century modern aesthetic.
