Open Theme, The Artist Intervenes, and Fargo Street + Artist Talk & Book Release

A public opening reception will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 6–8 PM at Praxis Gallery, located in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis.

Prior to the reception, artist W. Scott Olsen will host an artist talk and book release at 5 PM, providing an in-depth look at his photographic journey and new work.

This event is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to mingle with artists and fellow photography enthusiasts while exploring four galleries of contemporary photographic art. Complimentary refreshments will be served. The exhibitions feature 25 Minnesota artists, alongside photographers from 21 other states and 8 foreign countries.

Praxis Gallery presents photographic art across all genres and subject matters that represent the artists' endeavors to reveal a personal declaration of visual significance—whether through aesthetic formalism, humor, conflict, fiction, fact, or other manifestations.

Gallery 2: The Artist Intervenes

This exhibition showcases photographic and lens-based artwork that goes beyond traditional photographic processes. Artists have physically manipulated images through sewing, cutting, drawing, painting, tearing, bending, and weaving—interrogating the materiality of the photographic print to create new realities. Join W. Scott Olsen as he discusses the inspiration behind his latest work and new book. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with the artist, ask questions, and purchase signed copies of his book.
