Smoke And Ground

Smoke And Ground

Public Functionary celebrates an official relaunch of their new space in the Northrup King Building with a new group exhibition guest curated by Adrienne Doyle.

Adding to the Public Functionary footprint at Northrup King Building is a new event, exhibition, and community space on the first floor (in NKB #144). Following a summer of experimental and informal programming, PF’s new 7000 square foot exhibition and performance space formally opens to the public on Saturday, October 8 with Smoke and Ground featuring artists from the PF Studios program.

Smoke and Ground is a group exhibition highlighting the PF Studios program and the emerging artists within it. Public Functionary invited guest curator, Adrienne Doyle of Burn Something Collective, to familiarize with the program and the artists through studio visits. Smoke and Ground is the resulting compilation of works contributed by the artists in conversation with Doyle around ideas of place and memory she has been exploring in her practice.

Participating PF Studio artists:
Alexandra Beaumont, Avery Weiler, Leon Valencia Currie, Maiya Lea Hartman, Margaret Vergara, Satya Varghese Mac, Miku, Michael Khuth, Nailah Taman, Nicole Stiegart, nouf saleh, Patricio DeLara, Raye Cordes, Silent Fox, Sabrina Ford.
