Vine Arts Center presents a group exhibition showcasing art of various media by local mental health practitioners.
The exhibit will include painting, jewelry, pottery, photography, modern tapestry, and two live music performances on Feb 22nd and March 15th.
The idea behind this show was born as we were gradually shifting from the pandemic and reemerging in the world. In this process, I reflected on the impact of the pandemic, major political and social changes, as well as world's instability and climate change on our psyche.
As clinicians, we were met with a surge of need for help, and faced a variety of ways people were being affected. While we all have been processing the impact of recent years on mental health and our work with colleagues and friends in consultation groups and conferences, I imagined that this show could become another holding space where we could “play,” support each other, and express our experiences.
My other hope was that the exhibition could be inclusive and bring clinicians and non-clinicians of various backgrounds together to help further normalize mental health and make it more approachable to the general public.
Come to see and celebrate the beauty and healing power of the creative arts at work in countering the impact of recent and current events on individual and collective mental health and well-being.
