After two years of cancellations, Minnesota’s largest art fair is back marking its 58th year.
Minnesota’s largest art fair – attended by more than 350,000 people annually – is marking its 58 th year with an impressive lineup of internationally recognized artists, a marketplace with locally produced goods, an NFT booth, demonstrations, 25 food vendors with a variety of food, and much more.
During the 2022 Uptown Art Fair, visitors can browse original art including sculpture, drawing, glass, painting, jewelry, wood, ceramics, photography, mixed media and more from over 300 artists that representing 36 U.S. states and were chosen by a jury. The Uptown Art Fair runs Friday, Aug. 5, from 12-7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 7, from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Hennepin Avenue South and The Mall in Uptown, Minneapolis.
“Everyone from Uptown businesses to all of our vendors are very excited the Uptown Art Fair is returning back from a two-year hiatus,” said Uptown Art Fair director Jill Osiecki. “The financial and emotional impact has taken a toll on the area and artist community.”; The world has changed in the past few years, times have often been tough, but what UAF represents —creativity, joy, community and connection, all in an iconic Minneapolis location—are the things we need more than ever. After a 2-year hiatus from UAF, most of the Creative Badasses, a small collective of female artists, will be there - some for the first time - so please come out and celebrate Uptown with us and support local art “, said the “Creative Badass” collective members, which include local artists Kristi Abbott, Greta Sandquist, Sue Mooney, Coreen Johnson, Heather Renaux, Holly Keller, Linda Clayton, and Christina Rossi Hankins.;To say that I’m excited to bring my artwork back to the Uptown Art Fair would be an understatement. Honestly, it’s not about the return of an art fair after 2 years: It’s about celebrating art and local business while bringing positivity and engagement to the neighborhood.", said local photographer Nicole Houff.
The Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx will be participating in the event with a fun activation that will involve fair goers. “In celebration of the Minnesota Art community, we’re facilitating a community art piece to be used during the upcoming 2022-23 Timberwolves season.”, said Quinn Mack, Marketing Coordinator for the Minnesota Timberwolves and Lynx.

Sprayfinger: Graffiti Education and the Art of Creative Lettering will be on site all three days of the art fair. A group of students will be demonstrating this exciting street art and guests will have the opportunity to do their own “Spray & Take” opportunity. “We are ecstatic for the return of the 2022 Uptown Art Fair. We have always had a great community and spirit in Uptown. The past few years for everyone have been a challenge but we continue to build back and push forward knowing our neighborhood is resilient.
