Please join us on May 9–10 for VIBRATIONS, two days of public programs hosted by artist Karthik Pandian at Midway Contemporary Art, Minneapolis in relation to his solo exhibition Surrendur.
On May 9th from 6-8pm, the public is invited to bring a short text (poetry, fiction, lyrics, prayers, etc.) that has been a source of support, solace, or inspiration for you since 2020. Acclaimed composer Douglas R. Ewart will improvise on a variety of instruments along with the readings.
On May 10th, Pandian has organized conversations between his collaborators and invited guests including Mike Forcia (Bad River Anishinaabe), Ta Pejuta Wicahpi Win (Hunkpati Dakota Oyate), Lakshmi Padmanabhan, Elliott Powell, Palita Chunsaengchan, and more.
The 80-minute video at the center of Pandian’s installation Surrendur will be screened in its entirety immediately before (starting at 11:30am) and after (starting at 4pm) the May 10th program.
Both events are free and open to the public. Parking is available free of charge in Midway's lot and on-street. We look forward to seeing you!
