An exhibition of photographs by Andy Richter
Walking with Julien is an exhibition of photographs that were made by artist and photographer Andy Richter on walks with his young son throughout Northeast Minneapolis over the last 5 years.
GALLERY HOURS
The gallery at Artspace Jackson Flats will be open from 12 to 5pm on weekends (with expanded hours for Art-A-Whirl) and by appointment only on weekdays (please call 612-750-6644 or email andy@andyrichterphoto.com to schedule a viewing).
ADDITIONAL PROGRAMMING
A community facing exhibition of photographs from Walking with Julien will open on May 1st in conjunction with the gallery show at Artspace Jackson Flats. This exhibition will be hosted on storefronts and businesses throughout Northeast Minneapolis from May 1 to mid-August, 2022. See participating locations
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Andy Richter is a visual artist and photographer based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He immerses himself in his subjects and their wider context, exploring such themes as family, fatherhood, self-transformation, consciousness and spirituality with the heightened awareness that the camera brings.
His work has been exhibited internationally and has received recognition from American Photography, Photolucida, the Center for Documentary Studies at Duke University, and the International Photography Awards, among others. Richter is a multiple time recipient of the Minnesota State Arts Board Artist Initiative Grant and is a participating artist in the Hennepin Theatre Trust's It's the People public art installation for 2021-2022. His photographs have appeared in The New York Times, National Geographic Magazine, Time, GEO, and Leica Fotografie International, among others. In 2018, Serpent in the Wilderness, his first monograph, was published by Kehrer Verlag.
