Yankee Enduro | G. S. Broz

In the Lab Gallery, Praxis presents selections from G.S. Broz’s newest body of work which examines the twilight of the American trucking industry. The artist became a long-haul trucker expressly to examine the subject photographically. In addition to capturing big rigs in their natural habitat, Yankee Enduro explores the intersection of solitude and isolation experienced by the jockeys that command these beasts. All images were shot on square, medium-format film in 2019 and 2020.

Opening Reception:

An opening night reception on Saturday, August 19, 2023, from 6 to 8PM celebrates the debut of three new exhibitions at Praxis Gallery & Photographic Arts Center in the Seward neighborhood of Minneapolis. The event is free and open to the public. Guests are invited to mingle with artists and fellow photography enthusiasts while exploring three galleries of contemporary photographic art and enjoying complimentary refreshments. Two juried group shows and a solo exhibition will be on display. The exhibitions will be on display through Saturday, September 2, 2023.

Praxis Gallery and Photographic Arts Center is a community-based, artist-led non-profit organization that supports the development of new and emerging artists through exhibition and education. Our mission is to bring diverse perspectives into focus through lens-based art, creating opportunities that engage, challenge, inspire, and surprise the public. Praxis provides solo and group exhibition opportunities, free artist talks and critiques sessions, workshops, artist memberships, and access memberships to our darkroom and studio facilities.
